She has come...

She has come...

She has come...

when we were not looking.

unwanted still,

she opens the door

the fear of generations past

this genealogy is sad

with fear because she is here

we go mad....

keeping silence we think to conquer

growing weaker all the same

hiding the pain

as if it is shame...

finally we realize the falsehoods

and that this life is not all there is

but if were going to make it in the end

we must pull together, again

she has come

with all her cruel reality

with such finality

the cancer has come....

Dedicated to my Grandmother, my sisters, and all the women who fear the pain the indignity and the suffering...

Brave Ladies all...

and the families that have lived within the midst of that rain...

and the survivors of Breast Cancer...

Cancer is an unwelcome tenant. It always leaves heartache. My Mother in law died of cancer. My Grandmother died of cancer. I have two aunts who died of cancer. I hate that disease. I hope they find a cure so it will not come any more.
