Chose the better part... Happy New Years!!!!

Today we sang this poem as a Hymn in church, I was touched by it, and though the poem is called a Christmas Poem, to me it is more of a New Years and Easter rebirth type of poem...

Sometimes we speak of turning a new leaf to mean changing our ways, repenting and beginning anew... but this poems points out that in some ways we need to let the OLD and the sinful nature we have experienced in the past not to merely be on some page in our past, but that we should let it utterly die and fade away, that we might not just begin a new page, but begin our personal story again, in a new book... To me this is refreshing becouse so many time people repent and yet wallow in the memories and pain of there past sins and mistakes. This poem says to let them die.

Now we all have a big list of things we wish we could change, and I am with you in that desire, but I feel we need to approach this in a new way instead of a huge list that overwhelms and keeps us from success. Let us instead write our list, then refine it with the categories of good better and best, and allow ourselves to prioritize first working on the Best or what is most important at the time, leaving the better and the ,merely good for later...

As for our future when we are given the option of so many things as we are now...

Choose the Good part...

In Luke Chapter ten (KJV):

¶ 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her

therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

May our Heavenly Father Bless you as you begin life anew... with the new year...

God Bless you everyone,

Ring out, wild bells -

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
For those that here we see no more,
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.

Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.

Ring out the want, the care the sin,
The faithless coldness of the times;
Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes,
But ring the fuller minstrel in.

Ring out false pride in place and blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.

Ring out old shapes of foul disease,
Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.

Ring in the valiant man and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.

She has come...

She has come...

She has come...

when we were not looking.

unwanted still,

she opens the door

the fear of generations past

this genealogy is sad

with fear because she is here

we go mad....

keeping silence we think to conquer

growing weaker all the same

hiding the pain

as if it is shame...

finally we realize the falsehoods

and that this life is not all there is

but if were going to make it in the end

we must pull together, again

she has come

with all her cruel reality

with such finality

the cancer has come....

Brave Ladies all...

and the families that have lived within the midst of that rain...

and the survivors of Breast Cancer...

The lost, found...

The lost, found...

Imagine a nightmare

The loss the fear the panic

Of your child being taken from you

The despondency

You would pray

Cray rant and rave

You will plead

Every moment of everyday

You will search

Running you will seek

Crawling you won’t give up

Collapsing you still try not to give in

Prayer turns to bargaining

Promises offerings

Dedications, trades

Sacrifices

Dedicated love

Taking another step

Morning, loss

Realization

Realization but never acceptance

Silent pleadings

Tears in the night

As time moves on

Sudden frantic phone calls

Screaming collapsing

Dreaming crying

Twilight unreal limbo

Unreality of light

Memory of hope

New fears, prayers

Screams, Mommy Daddy Mommy

Your nightmare ends

Your arms enfold

Your hands caress

The child you hold

Who hugs you???

Who hugs you???

I am sitting here thinking

about all those that I know

with worries.

With my few friends,

even my small world,

there are such sorrows

it seems to never end...

There is such pain,

so many feel they haven’t got a friend,

but please remember now,

I am here thinking of you

and shedding these tears

Yes, I know I am just a man,

but I will do all I can

because I love you... too

But after the rain,

we shall all see the rainbow,

the promise of the Father

sent to us here to know,

he loves us,

yes he loves us... soooooo

More then we will ever know...

I am in turmoil

worried about each of you,

each day

not knowing what to do

to help you...

find your way...

Now I realize,

just a little bit,

of what he goes through

each moment,

what it must be like

for our dear Father...

He knows us each,

all our dreams

all our needs

and all of our weakness’

And still he loves

he loves each and every one

and always listens

to our prayers...

What must it be like

to care that much

and see so much more

then we can,

an know that the way out

for each of us

is plain to him,

yet we get lost

and we sin...

We need him....

But still after all,

even when we have done

what we should.

Is that enough,

after all the prayers,

and all the hymns,

the caring

and the services rendered to a friend,

it makes me wonder

who cares for him....

perfect though he is,

it is plain to see

he cares...

my dear friends,

in the end

the one who cares,

can be hurt,

and feel lonely too,

just as the Savior felt lonely

in that Garden

on the Cross...

after all the worship

Dear Heavenly Father

Who hugs you???

Dear,

Gracious

Loving

Heavenly Father

Will I do???

What I am Given...

What I am Given...

Inspirations...

Thoughts that heal...

Emotions contained in verse that flow

The soothing balm of Gilead...

Are not mine...

But mine to share...

Verses contained in spirit speed

His spirit, to mine, to yours...

Stewardships...

We have been given...

Wealth, strength and comfort given

From God, to you, to the world...

Gems of great worth...

Illuminated in the light of giving...

Are rocks worth nothing

When hidden from light in selfishness...
